CBOE sets trading and seat price records

Seats on the Chicago Board Options Exchange yesterday hit a record amid the busiest day of trading in its 33-year history.

The exchange said a seat, which allows its holder to trade on the floor, was bought for $1.1m (€900,000), a new all-time high. Reported trading volume was more than 5.7 million contracts, beating the previous record of 5.3 million contracts set on January 20 this year.
