CDO downgrades to continue in 2002

Collateralised debt obligations (CDOs) were subject to a record number of ratings downgrades in 2001 and remain under pressure this year, according to Moody's, the ratings agency.

Arbitrage cashflow bond CDOs and balance sheet CDOs, two of the most common types, were the hardest hit by credit pressures in 2001.
