Chair quits top European pension fund

PFZW went out of its way to pick a female chair in 2017, but she is stepping down after 18 months

PFZW, the second-largest pension fund in the Netherlands and Europe, is looking for a new chair after the current incumbent quit the role to find a job “where change can be quicker”.

Carla Moonen, a former political adviser to the Dutch prime minister, was appointed chair of the €202bn healthcare workers’ fund in March 2017. At the time the pension fund said it had a “big preference” for appointing a woman as chair because “over 80% of our participants are women”.
