Cinven, Permira and Mid Europa to buy Allegro for $3.25bn

Advisers say firms are being forced to boost their firepower by teaming up with rivals

Buyout firms Cinven, Permira and Mid Europa Partners have agreed a deal to buy Polish online marketplace Allegro from Naspers for $3.25 billion, according to a statement released.

A spokeswoman for Cinven said the firm teamed up with Permira because of its "strong track record in TMT - especially e-commerce" and with Mid Europa as it has a "strong regional experience" in central and eastern Europe.
