Cinven snaps up more media assets

A consortium of Cinven, a European private equity group, and Altice, a cable operator, has won the auction of the cable assets of France Télécom and Vivendi Universal. Its €528m ($706m) bid will create France's second largest cable operator.

In July, private equity sources said the race had come down to two bidders: Cinven and Altice, and US buyout firm, Providence Equity Partners.
