Citigroup admits Weill mulling early exit

Chuck Prince, chief executive of Citigroup, has admitted for the first time that chairman Sandy Weill is considering leaving the bank to launch a $5bn (€4.1bn) private equity fund.

Prince sent an internal memo to employees on Wednesday following reports that Weill wanted to leave the bank before his retirement in April.
