Citigroup and others reclaim market share in equity research

Citigroup claimed the largest share of the $5.7bn (€3.6bn) US equity research and advisory market last year, as investment banks clawed back some of the ground lost to independent providers, according to a survey by Greenwich Associates.

Citigroup had 8.5% of the US sell-side research market last year, ahead of Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, JPMorgan, and the now-defunct Bear Stearns.
