Citigroup has hired a Barclays veteran in a bid to grab a larger share of deals in the insurance sector, the latest senior dealmaker hire at the US investment bank.

Mike Lamb, who was formerly co-head of the financial institutions group at Barclays for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, has joined Citigroup as chairman of global insurance within its FIG team, according to a memo seen by Financial News.
