Citigroup hit by senior telecoms departures

Global co-head of telecoms investment banking follows European colleagues in leaving the US bank, just as telecoms M&A gathers pace

Citigroup’s global head of telecoms investment banking is leaving the bank to join a rival in the third senior defection from its global telecoms business in as many weeks.

A spokesman for the bank confirmed that New York-based Mark Simonian, co-head of the telecoms business with Ben Druskin, was leaving to take up a position with Credit Suisse. Credit Suisse could not immediately be reached for comment.
