Close Brothers debut to target strong year-end demand

Close Brothers, the London-based merchant bank, will capitalise on year-end demand in the sterling market with the launch of its debut public bond through subsidiary Close Brothers Finance.

The floating rate offering is expected to target the three-year maturity and will carry an explicit guarantee from the parent company, which is one of the few remaining independent merchant banks in the UK. Close Brothers is rated single-A by Fitch, the ratings agency.
