Close makes 17 times return on Minova

Close Brothers Private Equity, the buyout arm of an independent UK-based investment bank, has made an estimated 17 times return on the sale of its specialty chemicals portfolio company Minova.

Orica, an Australia-listed explosives group formerly part of Imperial Chemicals Industries, has agreed to pay £357m (€530m) for the company.
