CME to launch ether options contract

Ether options announcement comes just weeks after the launch of euro-denominated futures in ether and bitcoin

The CME is launching an ether options contract, adding to its existing dollar and euro-denominated ether futures.

Tim McCourt, head of equity and foreign exchange products at the CME, said that interest in ether derivatives was "surging" as markets looked ahead to an upcoming technology upgrade for the cryptocurrency.
