Core team quits Nicholas Applegate

Nicholas Applegate, the US fund manager owned by German insurer Allianz, has lost a team of top managers from Systematic, a subsidiary with assets of $5bn (€4.2bn), which analysts believe is important to the firm's success.

The team of managers specialists in computer-driven quantitative styles and has set up a new operation called ClariVest Asset Management, led by Stacey Nutt.
