Covington appoints former US Treasury deputy secretary

Covington & Burling has recruited Stuart Eizenstat, a former deputy secretary to the US Treasury, as part of a drive to move into strategic advice for international corporations.

The US law firm, which has a leading reputation for advising on technology mergers and acquisitions and handling the anti-trust aspects of high-profile deals, has hired Eizenstein to head its international practice out of its Washington office.
