Crédit Agricole and Soc Gen name asset management venture

French banks Crédit Agricole and Société Générale have named their new joint venture "Amundi" after having signed an agreement to combine their asset management businesses.

The name Amundi, which blends the initials of "asset management" with an allusion to the world, underscores the open mindset of the new entity, tha banks said.
