Credit Suisse hires to tempt wealthy clients into social projects

Marisa Drew, head of impact investing, says the bank wants to take a ‘leading role’ in impact investing

Credit Suisse, which runs an $800bn wealth management business, has added two high-profile executives tasked with encouraging its clients to put their money into social and green projects.

The Swiss bank said on September 3 it has recruited James Gifford, formerly the head of impact investing at rival UBS, to head up its business advising wealthy clients on impact investing, which describes projects intended to produce a social as well as a financial return.
