Danske Bank has launched Denmark's largest follow-on equity offering as part of a financing package to fund its Dkr30.1bn (€3.9bn) acquisition of the banking operations of Finnish financial services group Sampo.

The offering, which was sold in Copenhagen, raised Dkr14.67bn (€1.97bn), edging past the previous $2.5bn (€1.95bn ) record for a Danish company set by telecoms firm TeleDenmark in 1994.
