Dealmaking surges to $2 trillion

Announced global mergers and acquisitions volumes have reached a record of $2 trillion (€1.6 trillion) for the year to date, a third higher than at the same time last year.

Dealmaking took 188 days to reach $2 trillion on July 10, the quickest on record, according to Dealogic, the investment banking research provider. Announced volumes are 35% higher than at the same time last year.
