Debenhams considers flagship sale

Debenhams' flagship store on London's Oxford Street could be for sale as the retail company's new private equity owners consider a sale and leaseback of its property portfolio.

John Lovering, chairman of Debenhams, said: "We are looking at refinancing some of our property. We are identifying assets that are not going to deliver the return on capital our shareholders want."
