Bond bankers earn their holiday with near-record issuance

Other records have already been broken during a busy year for debt capital markets bankers

With only days left of 2016, global bond issuance is set to finish the year close to an all-time high.

According to preliminary year-end figures from data firm Dealogic, published on December 19, issuers have raised $6.52 trillion in 2016. That's the third best year on record, behind $6.56 trillion in 2012 and $6.61 trillion in 2006.
