Deutsche Bank hikes bonuses by 14% after bumper year for dealmakers

Average bonus payments for investment bank staff was €141,349, down from €307,553 in 2020

Deutsche Bank increased its bonus pool by 14% last year, a smaller rise than many of its rivals as banks have rewarded key staff after a record year for dealmakers.

The bank paid out €2.1bn in variable compensation for 2021, it said in its annual report, an increase of 14%. Within its investment bank, the bonus pool was around €1bn, an increase of 16% on the prior year.
