The number of graduates applying for a job at Deutsche Bank has slumped by 30,000 this year as the German bank faces one of the most difficult periods in its 149-year history.

According to figures obtained by Financial News, Deutsche received 80,000 applications for its graduate programme globally this year. In 2018, when the bank recruited a record 800 students, 110,000 people put themselves forward for entry-level positions.
