Deutsche Börse chief executive Carsten Kengeter has indicated that he sees a fair chance that merger talks with the London Stock Exchange Group can succeed, saying his company did its homework in scrutinising why previous merger attempts failed before entering talks on a potential deal.

Kengeter said at an event on February 25: "Be assured, I studied the failed talks. I examined the issues for the failures. And hopefully, I learned from this, otherwise I wouldn't have started the talks."
