The German exchange operator says there are opportunity for takeovers in the FX and commodities markets

Deutsche Börse, the German exchange operator, is targeting big deals to generate growth but has ruled out a merger with any of its large rivals two years after regulators shot down a tie-up with the London Stock Exchange.

Addressing analysts and investors at an event in London on May 22, chief executive Theodor Weimer said: “Our mergers and acquisitions focus in 2019 is on larger transactions to gain further scale.”
