Deutsche represents Xstrata in €1.4bn merger talks

Deutsche Bank is advising Xstrata, the Swiss mining group, on its tentative merger discussion with Mim Holdings, an Australian mining group.

The mandate is a coup for Deutsche, as Xstrata's £978m (€1.5m) initial public offering in March was led by JP Morgan. Deutsche was a joint bookrunner on the deal alongside Cazenove, and is the company's corporate broker.
