DMC Partners adds Kirkland & Ellis lawyer

Private equity firms have steadily been adding in-house legal expertise in the years since the financial crisis

DMC Partners has bolstered its team with the addition of a former partner from US law firm Kirkland & Ellis, making it the latest in a string of private equity firms to hire in-house lawyers.

The London-based firm, which was co-founded last year by former Goldman Sachs bankers and a former senior dealmaker from global buyout firm TPG Capital, has hired Matthew Gerber as an in-house lawyer, according to the UK's Financial Services Register and a person familiar with the situation.
