Eastspring adds new China investment chief

Prudential’s Asian fund manager has also secured a license to manage onshore funds in China

Eastspring Investments, the Asia-focused asset manager owned by Prudential, has recruited a senior fund manager from Schroders’ local operation to head investments for its new China business.

Michelle Qi, formerly a senior fund manager at Bank of Communications Schroder Fund Management — a joint-venture between the UK asset manager and China’s fifth-largest bank —  joins as chief investment officer for China equities.
