ECM volume in Americas hits $100bn in May

Equity capital markets volume in the Americas topped $100bn (€73.5bn) by May 1, marking the shortest period in which the milestone was reached since the dotcom era.

In 2000 ECM volumes topped $100bn in just three months to March 30. Last year, ECM volumes were $84.7bn for the year to May 1, according to data from Dealogic, the investment banking research firm.
