Europe and Asia help boost profits at EFG International

Wealth management and private banking units in the regions each reported double-digit year-on-year increases in net profits

Private banking activities in continental Europe, Asia and the UK were a boon to EFG International in the first half of the year, with wealth management and private banking units in each region reporting double-digit year-on-year net profits increases.

Net profits for the firm's private banking and wealth management business in continental Europe more than doubled to Sfr12 million ($12.81 million) in the six months to the end of June, from Sfr5.8 million during the same period a year earlier. Revenues rose 20% to Sfr46.6 million during the period.
