Electra caps the year with €285m Aliplast deal

Electra Partners has bought Aliplast, a Belgian maker of aluminium window frames, in a €285m ($356m) deal that marks its sixth buy-out of 2003 and its tenth since it closed its current fund in 2001.

Electra has acquired 72% of Aliplast for €205m, with the remaining shares going to management and the principal vendor, the Blijweert family, which founded the company. Electra, which took corporate finance advice from Deloitte & Touche, is paying for the stake using €72m from its fund and €133m of debt supplied by Royal Bank of Scotland.
