Electra acquires £30m debt portfolio

One of the oldest European private equity firms is joining a host of firms dipping their toes into debt

Electra Partners has become the latest private equity firm to expand its debt management business with the acquisition of a £30m portfolio of subordinated debt in European companies.

The mid-market buyout firm has acquired a portfolio of second lien and mezzanine debt holdings in five UK and continental European companies at a "significant" discount to face value for £30m from an unnamed international bank.
