Electra makes big returns on safety deal

KKR's $1.1bn purchase of the Capital Safety Group is one of the biggest European transactions since the summer

Listed private equity house Electra Private Equity has made more than six times its original investment in a UK-based safety products provider in one of the biggest transactions seen in Europe since the summer.

Electra and UK buyout firm Arle Capital Partners have sold Capital Safety Group to US rival Kohlberg Kravis Roberts for about $1.1bn, according to a statement.
