Eon raises £265m for broadband despite telecoms slump

Eon Communications has raised £265m (€430.2m) in funding to build a broadband communications network in Scotland and England despite the protracted slump in the global telecommunications market.

The funds represent one of the largest financing packages for a start-up telecom company in 2001.
