EQT wins MTU auction

EQT, a Scandinavian private equity firm based in Stockholm, has won the auction for MTU Friedrichsafen, the heavy engine unit of car giant DaimlerChrysler, with a €1.6bn ($1.9bn) bid.

Eckard Cordes and Rolf Eckrodt advised EQT on its proposal. Both are former Daimler executives.
