Ernst & Young CEO to step down next year

Mark Weinberger will leave EY effective July 1; The accounting firm expects to name a successor in January

Mark Weinberger, the global chairman and chief executive of Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young, has decided to step down next year.

Weinberger has led Ernst & Young, which brands itself as EY, since 2013. He said he had decided to step aside because the time was right after he led the firm through a major transformation effort to cope with changes in technology and globalisation.
