Esma asks firms to be ‘transparent’ on Covid hit to half-year results

Esma outlined a series of transparency recommendations for firms to follow

Europe’s market watchdog has called for businesses to fully reflect the impact of Covid-19 on their operations in their half-yearly financial statements — and for regulators and auditors to ensure they are doing so.

The European Securities and Markets Authority outlined its transparency concerns and provided a series of recommendations for businesses to follow, in a statement issued on 20 May.
