Eurex review follows €700m Altana hit

Eurex, the Frankfurt-based derivatives exchange, is reviewing how it treats special dividend payments after banks lost an estimated €700m ($959m) in failed trades on German chemicals company Altana.

Eurex believes its corporate actions policy, which is used by all European derivatives exchanges to adjust derivatives contracts in the event of a large special dividend payment, is the most appropriate.
