Euro 2008 rights lure bidders to €1bn Sportfive sale

The sale of Sportfive, the French sports marketing group that owns the publicity rights for the Euro 2008 football tournament, is reported to have attracted bids of up to €1bn ($1.3bn) from both trade and private equity groups.

French newspaper Le Figaro reports that the private equity groups include Permira, Cinven, Apax Partners and Butler Capital Partners.
