Euronext profits hit by French IT firm holding

Euronext, the pan-European exchange, recorded a one third fall in net profit for the third quarter following a revaluation of its stake in Atos-Origin, the French IT services provider.

The downward revaluation by €15.6m ($15.6bn) of Euronext's 0.74% stake in Atos-Origin contributed to net profit falling to €18.83m from €26.72m in the third quarter last year. Atos-Origin, which acquired KPMG Consulting earlier this year, recorded lower than expected profitability in a weak consulting and systems integration market.
