US dominates in the battle for IPO returns

Average first-month return for IPOs in Europe is almost three-times worse than in the US, according to Dealogic

The average first-month return for initial public offerings in Europe is almost three-times worse than in the US, according to Dealogic.

New company share offers on European exchanges so far this year have returned 5.6% on average in the first month after listing. In comparison, IPOs listed on US exchanges have averaged a 21.8% first-month return, according to the data provider.
