European Court of Justice gives ruling on part-time pensions

The European Court of Justice has upheld a ruling that part-time workers can claim back-dated pension contributions from their employers, as far back as 1976.

The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) said the decision would help to clarify part-time pension rights issues for both employers and employees. The judgement will now be referred back to the UK courts to be clarified further.
