European head quits GFI

The head of GFI Group's European business has quit in a surprise move after more than six years at the US interdealer broker.

Steve McMillan, whose decision to join GFI as chief operating officer in 2000 sparked a lawsuit against him and his new company by former employer and rival broker Cantor Fitzgerald, will leave GFI next month, according to a statement yesterday from the broker.
