European venture capital bounces back to near €1bn mark

European venture capital activity recovered from a poor start to the year with €967.3m ($1.2bn) invested in the second quarter, led by increased investment in healthcare.

The record quarterly investment since 2002 was up a third from €619m in the first three months of the year, according to research from Ernst & Young, the consultants, and VentureOne, a data provider.
