Evercore hiked pay for top London bankers by 20% last year

The bank, which has been on a hiring spree, paid £47.6m to 53 partners last year as profit soared, new accounts show

Boutique investment bank Evercore paid its top bankers in Europe an average of 20% more last year amid an unprecedented deal boom.

The bank, which has been on a hiring spree over the past 12 months, paid £47.6m to 53 partners last year, according to accounts released on 7 September. This amounts to an average payment of £899,480 — an increase of 20% on a year earlier.
