Evercore recruits for buyouts

Evercore Partners, the boutique investment bank, has hired a former general partner of Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe as a new co-head of private equity just as the firm is preparing to raise its third fund.

Evercore has appointed James Matthews as co-head of its private equity group, working alongside current head Neeraj Mital. Both Matthews and Mital report to Austin Beutner, the firm's chief investment officer and co-chief executive.
