Ex-Bank of America debt chief plots return with French fintech firm

A former co-head of debt capital markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London has launched a fintech firm just one year after his retirement — the latest example of a senior banker swapping high finance for the startup world.

Marc Tempelman, who spent close to 20 years in investment banking with a focus on deals in the financial sector before retiring last May, has moved from London to Paris to launch a retail-focused fintech startup alongside former AT Kearney strategy consultant Cyril Garbois.
