Paul Stevens, formerly chief information officer at Barclays Global Investors, has joined specialist consultancy Catalyst to head up a new asset management practice.

The company, which provides consultancy services to financial services groups on outsourcing, restructuring and IT initiatives, is looking to build a practice advising asset managers on how to move into derivatives.
