Ex-HSBC investment banking head Westerman re-emerges with new venture

Matthew Westerman, who was co-head of HSBC's investment bank before his shock departure late last year, has joined forces with a former Goldman Sachs partner to launch a new venture.

The banker has teamed up with Julian Metherell, who previously headed Goldman Sachs's UK investment bank, to set up MW&L Capital Partners, according to a person familiar with the matter.
