The Financial Conduct Authority has fined a former Jefferies managing director £37,198 for sharing clients' confidential information over WhatsApp.

The regulator said that while working at Jefferies, Christopher Niehaus shared confidential information about two of his clients with two friends - one of whom was also a customer of Jefferies, and a competitor of one of Niehaus' clients.
