Ex-Rothschild investment banking chief joins PR firm

A former co-head of investment banking at Rothschild, who left the group six months ago, has resurfaced at a financial public relations group, in a fresh sign of how senior figures in the banking industry are seeking opportunities away from the troubled sector.

Philip Swatman has been named as chairman of Merlin, the London-based PR firm founded in 1994 by Paul Downes and David Simonson, with immediate effect.
